Winstone Wallboards - Gypsum Handling System - Christchurch, NZ

In 2007 SCE successfully completed a gypsum reclaim, storage and handling system for Winstones Wallboards Christchurch plant.

The main features included a 300TPH belt feeder, infeed hopper and 2 x 600mm wide inclined belt conveyors to 2 x 100T overnight storage silos. Two belt feeders under each silo feed another belt conveyor to the plant process point.  The reliability of these items were crucial to the overall plant which operates 24 hr/day with minimal supervision and from commissioning nil downtime.The layout was restricted to maximise bulk storage and box truss structures were designed to span access ways.  Detailed chute and hopper design was carried out to avoid the products bridging characteristics.
